Competitions teams

Konkurrencehold

At Locked Up, we also offer competition teams for dancers who want to work more seriously and purposefully with their development

All competition teams at Locked Up will be led by Toby Deedaran, with strong support and assistance from our talented team.

Classes are taught by experienced instructors with solid backgrounds in competitive dance. The training is built around a balance of technique, choreography, and performance.

Throughout the season, we work on choreography that we perform at competitions in Denmark and potentially abroad. Training is structured around the elements included in the choreography, giving dancers a thorough understanding of the material - technically, musically, and performatively. Along the way, the focus is both on the individual dancer and on how the team grows and develops together.

Expectations

Being part of an elite team requires the willingness to invest time and energy into your dance

Development does not only happen during training sessions, but also through the desire to work on your dance over time and take responsibility for your own progress between practices. Therefore, we expect dancers to come prepared and take ownership of their development.

At the same time, community is an important part of everything we do. We work closely together and insist on a culture where we support one another, communicate honestly, and contribute positively to the shared environment. There is room for ambition - and room to enjoy the process as well.

Training

Competition teams typically train 2 hours per week at fixed times.

In addition, there may be extra training sessions throughout the season as well as mandatory training days.

We expect consistent attendance, and that any absence is communicated well in advance.

Pricing

A competition team costs between DKK 5,000 and 6,500 per season. There are two seasons per year, and upon acceptance, dancers commit to a full competition year.

The price covers regular training sessions. Additional expenses for competitions, transportation, camps, and competition outfits are not included.

Upon acceptance, all practical information and terms will be provided.

Competitions and Camps

Competition teams typically participate in competitions such as Hip Hop Unite, UDO Denmark, UDO Scandinavia, and Danmark Danser.

Other national and international competitions may also be added during the season. In addition, we host mandatory gatherings and training sessions where the teams come together for intensive practice and social activities.

Auditions

Admission to a competition team at Locked Up takes place through an audition before the start of the season.

Registration is required, and applications are submitted through the official form once the audition is announced.
