The new studio is founded by choreographers and dancers Toby Deedaran and Andrea Kjær, who previously ran Planum Studios. With Locked Up Studio, they aim to create a space where dance, music, creative projects, and events come together under one roof.
The new venue will be much more than a traditional dance studio. The vision is to build an open and vibrant creative environment where people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels can connect, grow, and create together.
"We want to create a place where creativity and community can truly thrive. A place where people can meet, grow, and create something together-regardless of their experience or background. Locked Up Studio will be an inspiring hub for dancers and creative communities in Aarhus," say Toby Deedaran and Andrea Kjær.
The studio will feature professional dance studios, a recording studio, creative workspaces, and facilities for hosting events. The goal is to bring together different creative communities and encourage new collaborations across artistic disciplines and cultures.
"We've been working on this idea for a long time because we felt there was a need for more space and more opportunities. Now we'll finally have the facilities to bring together dance, music, events, and creative projects in one place. It gives us the opportunity to create something completely new in Aarhus," says Toby Deedaran.
With the opening of Locked Up Studio, the founders hope to strengthen Aarhus' creative scene by providing a place where dancers and creative minds can find inspiration through music, movement, and collaboration.
Work on the new venue is already underway, and Locked Up Studio will celebrate its opening with a public Open House on August 29, where visitors can experience the new space for the very first time.
